Vegetable dip for toddlers

The toddler snack:
Veggie dips are made with using an 'experimental' approach. A base dip is made, and various spices are added to it.

Ingredients & Preparation:
The base:

  • 1 cup low fat yogurt
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise

Separate this mixture into two parts, and add any of the following ingredients to make different flavors.
  • Garlic powder
  • Parsley
  • Oregano
  • Dill
  • Chives
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Green onion
  • Fresh garlic
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Salsa
  • Shredded cheese

Serve the dip with carrots, celery, green or red pepper and broccoli.

It's important for you to monitor what goes into each dip, but part of the fun of this snack activity is experimenting. Even if the dip ends up too salty or too bland, your child will have fun making it.

Make it special:
Eat one dip now, and save the other to serve for dinner, so the whole family can enjoy it.

This could be one of the earliest creations of your future star chef! Encourage creativity.
