Healthy french fries

The toddler snack:
Parents join toddlers in creating this favorite form of spuds. These french fries are baked in the oven and use oil sparingly.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large baking potatoes
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder

Preparation:
Thoroughly wash your spuds. Peeling your potato skins is optional. Cut potatoes into strips about 1/4 inch thick. Soak the potatoes in cold water for 20 minutes. Remove from water and soak up excess water with paper towels.
Preheat oven to 400. Mix the olive oil with spices. Lightly coat potatoes with this olive oil mixture. Place on a large cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes and turn your fires. Bake another 5-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Make it special:
Put a potato in a clear glass filled half with water. Place the potato in the glass so it sticks out at the top. Watch the potato sprout and make "eyes" in about a week.

YeahBaby.com thoughts:
If you're going to eat french fries, make sure they are prepared as healthy as possible. Your lil muncher can use the carbs in this toddler snack!
