Candy sushi for toddlers

The toddler snack:
A toddler emulates the favorite food of his contemporary parents when making candy sushi. This sushi-looking kid's snack tastes nothing like fish. For kids, that's a great thing!

Ingredients:

  • 6 fruit roll-ups
  • 6 licorice strips
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 2 cups of puffed rice cereal (like Rice Crispies)

Preparation:
Lay out fruit roll-ups. Melt butter and marshmallows in a heavy saucepan. Add the cereal. Cool this mixture.
After the cereal mixture has cooled, spread about 2 tablespoons on the fruit roll-up (we recommend greasing your hands with butter.) Put one licorice stick toward one side of the fruit roll-up, and roll it length-wise. Cut into 4 pieces.

Make it special:
Try eating this treat with chopsticks. This will help your toddler develop motor skills.
